What is an Ankle Sprain?
Ankle sprains are one of the most common sports injuries, and occurs when the ankle is forced to bend more than normal. When this happens, the ligaments and muscles in the ankle can
stretch or tear.
-Swelling
-Bruising
-Pain
-Limited range of motion
-Inability to bear weight
-Cold or hot to touch
After suffering an ankle sprain, you should check with your physiotherapist or doctor to see if any imaging is necessary. Initial treatment consists of the acronym PRICE.
P – Protection
R – Rest
I – Ice
C – Compression
E – Elevation
